Before the Co-operative Banking movement gained widespread momentum, visionary leadership and Local Community-driven efforts played a crucial role in strengthening financial inclusion at the grassroots level. Inspired by such values, Siddaganga Urban Co-operative Bank Limited was founded under the guidance of Dr|| Sree Sree Shivakumaraswamiji, with a mission to serve society through Co-operative Banking.
On 2nd February 1995, Siddaganga Urban Co-operative Bank Limited was formally established in Tumakuru, marking the beginning of a dedicated financial institution focused on supporting individuals, small businesses and the Local Community. On 12th December 1994, the Bank obtained its licence from the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, enabling it to commence full-fledged banking operations including deposit mobilisation and loan disbursement.
From its inception, the Bank has been committed to providing accessible and affordable financial services, particularly to the middle-class and economically active segments of society. With a strong foundation built on trust, discipline and service, the Bank steadily progressed in the Co-operative Banking sector.
As the institution grew in strength and stability, it expanded its operations to better serve a wider population. Beginning with its first extension counter in 2008 at Siddaganga Women’s College Campus, Tumakuru, the Bank successfully transformed it into a full-fledged branch in 2010. In the same year, it extended its presence beyond Tumakuru by opening a branch at Dobbaspet in Bengaluru Rural District, followed by further expansion to Doddaballapura in 2014 and Vijayanagar, Bengaluru in 2015.
Today, Siddaganga Urban Co-operative Bank Limited stands as a trusted financial institution with a strong network, consistent growth and a continued commitment to its founding principles of co-operative service and Local Community development.

Established on 02/02/1995, the Bank was founded by Dr|| Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji and received its banking license from the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai in the same year.
Growth & Expansion
Since its establishment, Siddaganga Urban Co-operative Bank Limited has achieved steady and consistent growth by strengthening its deposit base and expanding its lending activities, resulting in improved financial performance and enhanced customer trust.
With a clear vision to serve a wider Local Community, the Bank expanded its operations beyond Tumakuru city. As permitted by regulatory authorities, its area of operation now extends across Tumakuru District, Bengaluru Urban and Rural Districts, Hassan, Ramanagara, Mysore District and Chamarajanagara.
As part of its structured expansion strategy, the Bank began strengthening its branch network with the establishment of its first Extension Counter in 2008 at the Siddaganga Women’s College Campus, B H Road, Tumakuru. Owing to its success and growing customer support, this extension counter was upgraded into a full-fledged branch in 2010, marking a significant milestone in the Bank’s growth journey.
Building on this success, the Bank expanded its presence beyond Tumakuru:
- Dobbaspet Branch (2010) – Bengaluru Rural District
- Doddaballapura Branch (2014) – Bengaluru Rural District
- Vijayanagar Branch (2015) – Bengaluru
These expansions have significantly strengthened the Bank’s accessibility, operational reach and service delivery across key regions.
Through the dedicated efforts of its Board of Directors, management and staff, the Bank continues to maintain strong financial stability and operational efficiency. Its performance is reflected in its ‘A’ Grade Audit Classification, demonstrating sound governance and disciplined financial management.
